Usually MB block drain plugs look like a pipe stub with a hex behind the stub. You can put a length of hose on the pipe stub, and then with a spanner undo the drain plug. The drain plug will be on the underside of the engine a couple of inches below the head gasket.
While you can use other than MB coolant, I wouldn't. It's easy to cause damage, particularly to the plastics in the system.

As I don't know much about A class, I don't know which anti freeze your car needs, although, I *think* this sheet is the right one;
