Was I imagining it but I thought I heard this on the drive home this afternoon...

Apple have shown an interest in buying Maclaren Cars (don't think it was the F1 team), seems they want to mirror Googles tie up with Tesla.

Not sure what that would do for Maclaren's kudos?

The rumour is they might buy McLaren (the whole group) or maybe the technology bit. The whole lot is only £1.5bn so pocket change for Apple. The F1 team is a bit part that needs a lot of funding from the overall group and sponsors.

Some clever stuff at McLaren group including materials, analytics and simulation.

I say go for it.
