....a journalistic "cut and shut" of an AC Cobra and a Daimler Dart.......?

Bet it's a Dax Cobra. ( replica Cobra )

Nope. GSM Dart was a local (to me) manufacturer.

Since Dodge Make a Dart and also a Viper is it stretching things too far that somebody has produced a special edition Dart and followed the name theme?

I've been considering, and trying to track down some hybrid kit car (Daimler Dart/Dodge Dart/Shelby) that might have existed. Was there ever a Shelby version of the Dodge Dart?

Either way it was clearly a death trap if someone died hitting a tree in their drive!

...not many drives on that road, and of those that there are, there are some (very) long ones.

...car like a Cobra Dart could be doing almost warp speed before the end of one of those.....

...not many drives on that road...

Other reports have it as the drive of 'his £500,000 home'. Surrey may be cheaper (!) but in this part of the world, £500,000 might buy a drive long enough to get up lethal speed - and maybe leave enough for a lockup garage. Not sure what he'd have lived in, though.

round here 500,000 gets you a kerbside and not much more.

The trouble with cars like that, no matter how much fun they are, is that the crumple zone is actually your legs.

I had a Westfield at one time ( not sure if I've ever gone into any detail about that ) but it did always slightly occur that a mistake wouldn't just be expensive.

Fibreglass body too, nice and lightweight. You could hitch one up to the back of your motor/home/shed/caravan/van thingy.
 Cobra Dart? - tyrednemotional
....aye, but I couldn't buy that. It would cost more than my shoes!

 Cobra Dart? - Runfer D'Hills
It does look a bit like the sort of car one could convincingly drive in slip on shoes. Lounge lizard's car. Slightly stained blazer and a once good but now marginally frayed shirt. Sudden loss of wallet when it's your round sort of thing...

Bang on !

There's a now very politically incorrect line from Lesley Phillips in a fifties film set in a school, where he arrives and says

"I say! Some of you girls are bang on for seventeen".

I can't recall the film title offhand.

Do you know that or are you just picking a fifties film with him in that's about a school?

Because if you don't actually know it, I shall be forced to watch the whole thing to find out, a task unlikely to fill Mrs C with joy when she next wants to go shopping and I have to say I'm doing research.

She wasn't that thrilled about Carry On Jack being on the other day either, though that's partly because I have a terrible crush on Juliet Mills as she was in that one. She's not mollified by the knowledge she bears more than a passing resemblance to her either. Can't understand it.

>Fibreglass body too, nice and lightweight.

Fibreglass body that flexed and rattled like you wouldn't believe. Not forgetting the doors that would come open on their own and windscreen pillars that would flex with a push of one finger.
 Cobra Dart? - Runfer D'Hills
Oh, you've had a Westfield too then?

Just watched CAR SOS, which I downloaded today - P1800.
At 26 seconds there is a brief flash of a Daimler Dart. In blue.

I sincerely hope it isn't the same one, but suspect it is.>> Whassat?
