 Land Rover - Evoque fire Edin Airport - JLR "not our fault" - Falkirk Bairn
JLR deny any fault in car for fire that destroyed an Evoque & 2 other cars in Airport Multi-storey car park.

Car owner claims there have been many car fires with JLR cars.

I know car fires are not really very common although in the past Citroen seemed to figure, as does the Vx Zafira - neighbours 7 seater Citroen had wiring issues that destroyed much of the cars wiring but did not actually catch fire in the garage attached to the house - lots of smoke but no flames.

Eh? The Fire Brigade say the cause is undetermined, so how can JLR say it's not their fault?

If the car was left unattended and it was not arson, then the cause of the fire is most likely going to be a fault with the car, isn't it.

But likely is not a definitive article. One can argue probable till the cows come home, but in the absence of any proof - rather difficult.

That being said, modern car electrics are far too complex for their own good.

Rat/squirrel/rodet chewing through wires, smouldering fag end in air intake, INSURANCE FRAUD?

Immensely complicated machine containing many flammable parts and ignition sources is used in all weather conditions for two years with no inspections of its potential fire sources, catches fire. Hundreds of thousands of identical machines don't. Not exactly foreseeable.
