Classic Car Hire - North Wales - nice but dim
Here we are again, me thinking of classic car hire. Never ended up doing it last year as per last years thoughts.

We are off to North Wales for a week in August and now I'm sat at work dreaming of lovely sunshine and a nice open top car driving on the coast (Triumph Stag mmmm) though open to type and maybe something less classic.

Has to seat 4 (the family).

Does anyone (R.P?) know of any places in the surrounding area?

It would be a DB6 Mk I Volante for me.

Yes indeed I have a contact/

Cheers R.P, if the cost is reasonable (circa £150 for a half day or so) ask the mods to PM me the contact.

The idea sprang out of a super car experience, I was looking at me and the old man doing 6 laps each on the Angelsey circuit but they don't do them that week :(

I can't read the word "Volante" without mentally hearing Sean Connery shaying "Dishco Volante"

( that was the one where he got involved with Largo'sh neish too. )

We went there last "summer" to do that. It pee'd down all day but was rather a wheeze very good circuit. Got into a Nissan GTR to be greeted by a former colleague who works for the company ! I've sent a text to my contact for you.

Just spoken to him, he's left the trade now. Classic Hire North in Yorkshire has a Stag. That's the nearest he knows of.

I could do you a nearly 8 year old Qashqai with a wonky aftermarket door mirror quite reasonably and we're on the way to North Wales off the M6...

Not all that classic but it's red and has some patina... ( especially on the ns front bumper )

The roof doesn't fold but it has 4 electric windows so it can be made to feel draughty if required. More so if you turn the heater off.

I'd even have it fumigated in preparation.

...do be careful; the next 'modification' may be a folded roof........
