Done similar with a bunch of old bungees when I was a regular at Aviemore. Don't last long but they don't usually have to.

I remember perhaps from HJ that there was a set of clips you just drove over, and they would hold onto the bulge of an ordinary high profile tyre and provide extra traction and braking in snow/ice conditions. So long as the driver didn't go too fast.
