Ford Focus II - 06 1.8 Car takes a while to respond when cold, why - GoodDriver91
Over the last 2 weeks or so I notice that when my car engine is cold, if parked overnight for example, it takes a couple of minutes to respond and when pressing the accelerator nothing happens. it ticks over okay but when you press your foot on the accelerator it won't rev up until after about 4 minutes. when it responds it seems okay, drives fine e.t.c.

Any idea's what could be the cause ?

I had this on a 55 plate Mondeo a while back.

I tried lots of different things, the one that worked was to take it to a garage and get them to install the latest ECU software. It cost me £36 in about 2010. Hth

Thanks for the input, I hope mine isn't too bad a problem either.

Engine starts first time and after the engine has been ticking over for usually around 5 minutes it suddenly resondsrevs almost as normal, did youysr do it as well?
