More Than and Churchill have an upper age limit of 80 for online quotes, anyone 80 or older would have to phone to get a quote.

Can they justify this?

IIRC people over 70 have to retake their driving test every two years. They're probably safer drivers than most of us.

No they don't. They just have to get a note from the doctor which states they are still fit to drive. If everybody over 70 had to retake their test every two years the test centres will be full crashed car parts outside them.

You don't know what you are talking about either! It is self-certification-a doctor is only involved in the case of certain illnesses.And,yes,I am over the age.

Probably a good thing. A significant proportion of people over 50 have trouble using the internet, never mind 80 :)
