OK - time for the hardened topers here to sneer! We've had threads on Whisky & Gin, so what about sherry?
For a sweet sherry I like Croft, but these days my taste has move in the direction of dry sherries.
I'd struggle to actually drink much of Harvey's Bristol Cream, but it's OK in sherry trifle!
Any really good dry sherry, served cold, is OK. I guess that Tio Pepe is the UK market leader in this dry sector.
If I could find Sandeman's Dry Don, I'd love to re-taste it, to confirm my opinion that it is a super tipple.

Have you tried ALDI

My Mother often offers one as a pre lunch aperitif which I'll accept - usually Bristol Cream. Cannot think of any other occasion I'd choose Sherry excepting around Xmas.
My Father liked Tio Pepe and similar. One of the few alcoholic drinks I find genuinely unpalatable.

I love a bit of Asda Amontillado before Sunday dinner, 1 litre for £7. "A medium dry sherry which is light amber in colour. Distinctive nutty nose with hints of dry fruit."
|
My father, a very moderate drinker who liked sherry, tended to drink amontiillado, and I have inherited that preference from my parents. Amontillado is equivalent to what they call 'medium' in pubs. It's the right balance between syrupy oloroso and seawater-like fino... on the rare occasions I drink the stuff and there's a choice. I did like the fino grade montilla they served in the pub in Spain last time I was there. Nicer and less toxic than the beer and didn't make you feel bloated or sweaty. Cheaper than beer too for more zap.

ALDI only do a sweet sherry as "own label", bur my wife came back from there today with some Croft!

I had a girlfriend who just loved Bristol Cream :-0)

Tio Pepe is not my favourite, market leader or no (probably a result of the advertising...) too astringent and not rich enough to be a favourite.
Favourite, Hidalgo Pastrana - a mature Manzanilla; £11 from Sainsbury I believe. Truly wonderful. (Manzanilla is like dry sherry, but from a town by the coast - rather than Jerez which is inland, so has a little salty tang to it too.)
Huge fan of Argueso 's San Leon too; another mature Manzanilla.
Or the Valdespino Innocente, which is stupidly expensive over here, but the same €1 per glass over there as any other.
