News of today’s press conference came out earlier this week and I speculated to myself that they may have imaged bits of the Beagle lander spread out over a wide area.
I must admit to being very happy to be wrong as the images show that Beagle 2 made it to Mars intact and other technical faults prevented it from opening all of its solar panels.
Shame Colin Pilger is no longer around to hear the news, he really looked like the archetypal English Scientist and it seemed like he was a good sort.

Yes a shame they didn't find it before his passing. But the landing is probably what damaged the solar panels and stopped them opening. So it might as well have smashed to pieces.
