What is that thing that we are not allowed to say about anybody?

Is it the 'R' word? Because I honestly do not know.

"You know that thing that I'm not allowed to say about anybody? Well, if it were otherwise I'd be saying it about you".

I don't think so. It is almost obligatory to call someone racist if they dare to express any views on say immigration short of "let everyone in without limit".

Not really, I don't think anyone thinks "immigration without limit" is acceptable, in fact, on here at least, calling someone racist is nothing at all to do with immigration. And there are people on here who are deeply racist in the very worse sense of the term.

I was just giving an illustration as to why "racist" cannot be the R-word we dare not utter.
You have just illustrated that it is perfectly acceptable to use the word publicly.
All I was saying is using the word as an accusation to jump on people with contrary views appears to be perfectly acceptable.

I'm trying hard to think of any word beginning with R that is so taboo as to be unutterable.

Republican ? :)
