...and only £490!

The new card is aimed at film-makers shooting in the high-quality 4K format.
The 4K format - which is four times the resolution of HD - requires large file storage. Depending on compression, a single minute of 4K shooting will typically take around 5GB of storage space.

That's not that expensive considering the capacity.
Makes you wonder how small an SSD could be though. I know this card hasn't got the performance or endurance that an SSD is expected to have. But that's a lot of storage in a small space.
When I read that earlier today I thought this phrase was a bit funny: "The card, which is the size of a postage stamp, will go on sale for $800 (£490)." It's as if this card was a different size to all other SD cards.

For 4k vid it will need to be fast, class 10 minimum, and 128gb of fast SD is about 50 quid.
So this 512gb should settle out at about 200-ish quid when production ramps up.

The picture of the card shows it is class 10. But more importantly it is UHS Speed Class 3. That means a min of 30MB/s but the card shows 95MB/s.
