Much earlier this evening, my very cute 13-year-old grandchild dropped her iPad causing its screen to go out. She was in floods of tears. Apparently 'Everything!' was on it.
I pressed its three discreet buttons. Nothing happened and it sat here for a couple of hours.
Then the nipper came in and touched it. It came very slowly to life, eventually showing its usual screen.
The child was very pleased of course and thought I had cured it. But I don't think so.
Is it possible the thing could recognise her fingerprints without her knowing that? Anyway I'm glad I lost the post I made here through some piece of idiocy. It was redundant in any case in the event.

No because the iPad's do not yet have a fingerprint sensor.
