How is anyone unlucky enough to die of pneumonia in 2014 and at his age?

He had Parkinson's which weakens the whole system and makes infections more likely.
He was a nice man. I met him once outside the Houses of Parliament (we both supported a struggling group of Saharan guerillas).

Pneumonia as a consequence of some other disorder such as COPD?
|
Always enjoyed Hoskins's films.
I survived a bout of pneumonia when I was under a year old, living in a caravan. Docs came to visit and said it was too risky to move me to a hospital, I'd probably not survive the journey.

I'll have a "P" please, Bob.

Do you remember Bob Holness in "The Long Good Friday" by any chance? Because he died a couple of years ago.

I thought it was longer ago than that, but when I just looked it up...
Died: January 6, 2012
Anyway, did the other Bob ever find out who framed Roger Rabbit?
|
Bob Hope was a detective?? Who knew.
|
Wasn't that Bob Holness? He played James Bond y'know.
|
Didn't he play the xylophone on Sgt Pepper?
|
Ironic if he had died on the 18th of this month....

Many people wouldn't remember that the great man featured, back in the '70s, in a Sunday evening TV series called On The Move, which was part of the adult literacy programme. He played a furniture van driver and must have helped many thousands of people to learn to read, including my son, who was just three-and-a-half at the time.

Wow. That's instantly unlocked a really well hidden memory (childhood one for me). I even remember the theme tune. Telly was always on on Sunday evenings as we always had my Maltese Great Gran over for Sunday dinner, and she liked watching a programme called "The Brothers". I remember nothing about that show but clearly recall "On The Move" and Bob Hoskins being in it now you have mentioned it. Ain't memory a clever thing. It's a darned sight quicker retrieving information than my wretched Sony Android smartphone anyway.
