Just been watching a You-Tube video by an American called Thio Joe. He shows how to double download & upload speeds by wrapping ethernet cable round existing ethernet cable. Seemed very plausible but too good to be true, also claims you can triple the speed by taping re-chargeable batteries to ethernet cable, has anyone tried this, does it work?

That did cross my mind, if you can, have a look for yourself, he's done several computer/help videos all seem pretty genuine to my untriained eye.
