When I'm using IE8 on my XP I have a spellchecker which I downloaded into tools,
Is there a spellchecker available for use with firefox?
If I go into tools ~ options, the box that say's " check my spelling as I type" is ticked,
but its not checking this as I type now.
muchos gracias ~ Perro.

Have you checked the help:
support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Using+the+spell+checker
Although it implies it should be working for you from what you say.

I Didn't realise that it was a spelling problem - just thought you spoke in riddles...
|
I had the same problem.
FF says it's spellchecking when it isn't.
The answer, as Focus says, is to download the dictionary of your choice.

Who needs a spellchecker?
If you can raed this, you have a sgtrane mnid too
Can you raed this? Olny 55 plepoe out of 100 can.
I cdnuolt blveiee that I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd what I was rdanieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno't mtaetr in what oerdr the ltteres in a word are, the olny iproamtnt tihng is that the frsit and last ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can still raed it whotuit a pboerlm. This is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the word as a wlohe. Azanmig huh? Yaeh and I awlyas tghuhot slpeling was ipmorantt!

I don't need a spell checker. I learned to spell when I was at school in the late 1940s and early 1950s!
|
Most programs will use the spell checker in your word processor (Word etc); Firefox, if necessary, can be used with the British English Directory add-on. Also ensure you choose English UK rather than US in Tools>Options>Content.

Snap.

My spelling is good, my typing isn't.
