Thanks for posting the Youtube link to the Almera ad. Forgotten about that. Reminds me that the Almera and Primera were dull to look at. Interiors were not as good as the European cars. I like the fact that he started off as a hairdresser, turned down an audition for the Beatles, joined a fairly famous 60s rock group, in his spare time after the professionals he joined the TA, then got his red beret to become a TA para, and passed the SAS selection tests but was turned down because he was too well known. I didn't see them Humph, but were they really sad or just getting on a bit and wrinkly? They were appallingly energetic and regimented in their heyday my mental vision reminds me, although cute too of course. People's lives go this way and that and it isn't always a pretty story throughout. But going over the hill is a universal experience for those who don't die young. It isn't necessarily the bleak prospect some try to make out. There can even be compensations. Reply to this message | Report message
