The helmet-cam coverage last year gave me an adrenaline rush and made me feel genuinely nervous.

No comparison to Formula One.

More on ITV4 all week from the Isle of Person.

Practice repeated at 1.55m today, qualifying at 5.55pm, Superbike race at 9pm (repeated twice tomorrow), sidecars at 9pm tomorrow for a start.

F1 is as safe as houses in comparison.

There's absolutely nothing to beat the sheer brute force bravery of TT riders. Whether or not you enjoy the spectacle, or m/cycling in general - the simple physics of what those guys do is awe inspiring.
Compared to (even) F1 or Indianapolis the knife-edge margin between a fast lap & certain death are fractions of inches - there's no chance of a bumpy run off into the gravel if you get it wrong - a proper mans' sport.

Next year will be the 100th anniversary of the 1st fatality on the TT.

I have never been to the IOM, let alone the TT but I hope to make the pilgrimage next year.

RIP V.J.S. let your memory never be forgotten, and the racing never banned.
