We've just tried some whey ice cream having read an article about it recently.
I was a bit dubious about it but it's really nice IMO, better than 'real' ice cream, if that's possible.
We had a scoop of each, vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate, it reminded me of the old Neapolitan ice cream.
Bit pricey though: www.wheyhey.co.uk/index.php?lang=en

It's an alternative for diabetics who like their ice cream Dutchie.
|
I didn't know that Dog thanks for telling.

That's good to know Bonzo.. I like ice cream but the sugar doesn't like me. Got to get a few bits tomorrow so I'll see if it's available up here in Arcadia.

Elf food shops like H & B could be your best bet but, as I say, it is ex-pen-sive!

Just been to local Morrisons and , of course, they didn't have it. No surprise there ! They did have Frank's Diabetic ice cream so I bought a tub of that and a tub of Carte Noir for the lesser mortals in our house.
Got home and SWM had just been given a tub of rum & raisin by next door 'cos they didn't like it.
Funny ole world, innit ?

|

Well, I wouldn't recommend it Teddy-my-love:
Skimmed Milk Powder,Vegetable Fat ,Fructose ,Maltodextrin ,Dextrose ,Emulsifier (E471) ,Stabilisers (E401, E339, E466) ,Flavouring ,Natural Colours (Cucumin, Annatto)
|
Interesting fact:
The sweetener in WheyHey ice cream is Xylitol which is highly toxic to cats and dogs.
Think I'll stick to Ben and Jerry's. :-)

Well, I'm still here.
Dog.

Might be very different in the morning, though !

It was the effect on blood sugar of the maltodextrin, dextrose, and fructose, I was thinking of Teddy-my-love.
Compared to the cat and dog poison.
|
What about the boiled up bones - (glycerin) that they both uses as an emulsifier?
|
I used to dream of boiled up bones for me Sunday dinner.....usually it was just the top of me ole mam's boiled egg !
