I'll have to check to be sure but Alex may not have been the only one who'd been taken back to the early 80s. Shaz's video seemed to show a street scene from the early 90s, featuring what I thought was an H-reg Sierra Sapphire, which would be too big an anachronism to have got in by accident. This may be why she seemed more receptive than the others to Alex's ideas. (I may find I imagined that bit, of course.)
As for the Devil using Betamax, perhaps we all secretly knew this and that's why it didn't catch on.
One of the creators, interviewed in the Guardian's TV Blog, insisted there will be no more Hunt on TV, but he hinted that a film might be possible. Whether it will feature Hunt in the Mercedes 190D whose brochure he was studying at the end remains to be seen.
