 Council Tax increase? - Crankcase
I guess everyone has had their paperwork with the notification of this year's tax by now.

How much has yours gone up by?

Mine is £48 more over the year.

Bout £27 I think (1.97%), but I'll have to ask the missus.

No change in Bury St Edmunds
 Council Tax increase? - Ambo
0.53% in Poole.

Up by a tenner a month. Think that makes me the winner (!) so far.

Zero increase last year (Lib/Tory coalition), stonking rise this year (Labour). Well voted, Reading (rolling eye smiley).

Ours up about £15/yr... but still good value for the house type.

I'm going to have to have another look at the paperwork at my next opportunity. I see online that South Cambs have only put it up by a fiver a year or thereabouts, so I can't now recall where the other 43 quid is coming from. I can't believe it's the Parish Council, but it must be somewhere.

Mine has stayed the same (Sefton MBC), but others have had a slight increase.

Would have thought it should go down in view of the many cuts made to date.....

Up by £110.

Cor, just a tenner short of mine there, Robbie. Where are you? Let me guess - Labour council?

No change in Council tax in South Lanarkshire, but water rates (Which we pay with CT in Scotland) have gone up £14 / year.

 Council Tax increase? - DP
Up by £56 (Hart, Band D). Compared to the double digit percentage increases year after year during the Labour government years, the past few have been delightful. The council tax at our old place doubled in the six years we were there.

No change here. My council tax has been the same for 3 years now ( Conservative council ).

During the reign of the Labour government, our council built itself a vast glass palace that would make an Audi dealership look like a shanty town; meanwhile, other administration buildings in the town stand empty.

Ours is up about £3, less than 0.5%. Pity the water bill is up 15%...

It is hard to believe in this day but Stoke on Trent council moved their offices from Hanley to Stoke - two of the seven towns of the Potteries - about 15 years ago. All new offices.

They are now going to move back to Hanley again - in new offices again.

This from a council which is deeply in debt and shown on TV as financially incompetent.

No prizes for guessing which Party runs it and has done for decades.

(after rate rises for the past two years, they may freeze them this year)

South Kesteven (Lincs) up 0.6%. The services are very good, except pot hole repair, inflation is well above that so overall, well pleased

>> South Kesteven (Lincs) up 0.6%. except pot hole repair,

you can say that, the roads are shocking round here.
 Council Tax increase? - Meldrew
Are you in Lincs/Kesteven sooty? The main problem is crumbling edges of minor roads, in my experience.
 Council Tax increase? - sooty123
Yes I am. I've noticed up towards Grantham it's in the 'running line' across large parts of many roads. The area around Cranwell is bad as well. Yes crumbling is bad around the Boston area on the back roads, some of them have reduced speed limits it was that bad.

If Alanovic is the winner then I'm the loser!

£3.12 less this year.

Third year of no increase from the local council and a reduction from the Greater London Authority.
 Council Tax increase? - TheManWithNoName
0.21683% increase or £2.80 higher.
Our increase is due to Police, Fire or county council bunging their bit up. Can't complain.

>> and a reduction from the Greater London Authority.

Presumably that's an effect of Boris dismantling the newt-fancying trot's empire.
Also, maybe that particularly high profile glass palace is now paid for?

I particularly enjoyed Dan Hodges' account recently in the Telegraph, of a pointless and very expensive Venezuelan junket he went along on for TfL under Ken's aegis. Very amusing and well worth reading.

It is rented! City Hall was constructed at a cost of £65 million on a site formerly occupied by wharves serving the Pool of London. The building does not belong to the GLA but is leased under a 25-year rent.
