I could readily believe that children who have grown up on farms, or in the Swedish outback, could be expert drivers on snow and ice at that age. But that girl looked as if she barely knew what the steering wheel was for, and had to keep being corrected with a steadying parental hand.

On Wheeler Dealers this week Mike bought a Mk1 Escort. The seller was 15, and had been driving/maintaining the car for four years, with some help from his dad. Improvements included a bigger engine and XR2 seats, but oddly the drum brakes had been left untouched.

Really enjoyed the Mk1 Escort Wheeler Dealers. My first car was a white 1100 DeLuxe. I bought and sold it for £200, I couldn't believe the prices they fetch now. £4.5k for the shed they bought. Staggering. But I'd love to drive one again.
