Is it a legal requirement to remove the filling loop on a combi boiler? I've just had to re-pressurise mine (Worcester Greenstar Si) installed one year ago. Easy enough job, but the pressure loop was already attached, as left in place by the installer. I have heard this should be removed and the blanking caps used, is this correct?

I guess that depends whether or not you trust the taps to remain off when the topping up is complete.
I think best practice would indicate removal of the tube & blanking caps, as I would think that your mains water pressure could easily over-pressurise the system should a leak into the boiler persist.

I, of course, should have said "the fitting" of the blanking caps.

I believe it should be disconnected in case the isolating valve leaks (or is not shut off completely) and pressurises the system to mains water pressure. My Worcester boiler has a built in filling link but has a removable key device which only connects the mains water when inserted.
