Did anyone watch latest BBC Watchdog?
They showed how easy it is to clock a digital odometer!
Probably easier than an analog one.
I wonder what benefit is achieved by fitting digital odo in cars?

It's just a crap design. It wouldn't be technically challenging to make it virtually impossible to alter.

I prefer the position and the clarity of the digital odo on the Yaris, to to the analog on my Mazda.

i thought the odomoter, was built into the cars ECU, therfore making it harder to alter

What I can't understand is the test drive shown on Watchdog.
Bloke turns up in car he's trying to sell. Hands keys over to two complete strangers and off they go while owner of car waits for them to return. Who's to know the car the buyers turned up in wasn't stolen and they've now driven off in your motor, never to return.
Also, later on, the bent guy who's trying to sell the clocked Passat just hands the keys over to two complete strangers for a test drive. Who's to say that those two people aren't dodgy either?
Something doesn't add up with that Watchdog report.

Nah, just as easy. In fact the spinny numbers could be done by anyone with a screwdriver,
