 Aberdeen By-pass now £750m - Falkirk Bairn
Original estimate was £347m.

The Green Brigade challenged the building for many years culminating in their bid being thrown out by the Supreme Court a few weeks ago.

Surely this is an appalling situation whereby the cost has doubled and we have not seen a metre of road built.

It is due to start construction in 2014 and finish in 2018!

Can we send the Green Brigade 1/2 the invoice?

The Legal Bills over the last 10 years have been huge - I do not know if this is included in the £750m!

Similar SNAFU here re St Ives Guided Busway
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambridgeshire_Guided_Busway

For those without the inclination to trawl thru it the gist is the staggering sum of £180 million to turn 16 miles of disused railway into a concrete track for buses to run on, some level crossings and a cycle track. £Millions further spent on suing and counter suing re penalties and cost over-runs.
