Convent School in Southampton - Stuu
My mum went to a school in Southampton, aged 5-7 from '58 to '60 and cannot remember where it is.
It was run by nuns and she thinks it was called Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception - anyone know anything about the place? I can find a church of that name but no reference to nuns to be found.

That's not really why you want to know, is it?

Im afraid so :-)

Just wanted to see where my mum went to school, the stories she tells about the place and the nuns are just as funny as you would expect!

Church, parish and school were normally quite closely associated.

portswood@portsmouthdiocese.org.uk is the primary e-mail of the Lady of Immaculate Conception Parish.

There was a convent school for girls up to 18 near my school years ago. It may have been staffed by nuns but they knew enough to put broken glass along the top of the back wall.
