Just cannot believe this weather, went to get a pizza about an hour ago and I was too hot in my coat.
Was in town before and was sweating it was so warm (I was in winter gear though!).
Tomorrow 19c and sunny. The downside is as we haven't had any rain up here for a few weeks my business of selling water to the southerners has gone bust.
Oh btw I am completely sober, just very tired

Tis just like the March`s I remember having in the early `70`s - nice to see them back!! - last year our Swallows were back on the 2nd, only 10 days to wait ! ;-)
Highest temp yesterday was in Crawley (somewhere down South) 21c
Lowest temp (daytime) was in Lerwick (somewhere up North) 6c Brrrrrrrrrr!
Up north? About 500 miles up north! It is closer to Norway than 'up north' :). southerners :D

Northerners. Bit of sunshine and they go to pieces. :-p
Midlanders, a bit of sand and sea and they think they are abroad :D.

Take no notice Rats. When the arid wastelands of the South are abandoned 'cos they don't have enough water to brew their Skinny Lattes they'll all want a piece of us. Even Zero. :-)
We invaded you sheep shaggers once, it will be even easier second time round
Im a Southerner actually dear boy ;-)
I'm in a suburb of Bath. I am I'm my sleeveless shirt getting sunburned and bitten by huge rabid Ladybirds. Just snapped my first Bluebell of the year.
Rotten cold here in North Notts - thinking of putting on the heating!
Make the most of it, it may be all the summer we get.

i cant wait to get back to cote d' skegness...being a midlander seeing the sea has quite a profound effect on ones primordial senses

"being a midlander seeing the sea has quite a profound effect on ones primordial senses"
Living in Norfolk, seeing hills has a similar effect on me
The sun actually came thru the mist at just after 1400 hrs.
Too little, too late. Brrrr!
Whinging Poms.
I consider 19 degrees 'time to get out a pullover' weather.
at least in the cold weather you can put another bar on, its the hot sweaty summer days when you cant get cool i hate.....bring on october
I am quite lucky really, where I live is flat so little snow, but I am in the middle of hills and not far from Mountains, the sea is 30 miles away but I hate the drizzle, and the problem is in south Manchester once the drizzle starts it can last a few days,
didnt manchester invent drizzle? without it lowrey would still be looking at a blank canvas (shoebox) ?

Hehe! - reminds me of when we lived in astings, I was sitting near where the fishing boats are (rock a nore) one sunny day in June and got talking to a couple from Brisbane - they thought 22c was a tad on the chilly side, compared to where they came from.

The local expat oldsters still gather at a local pub for Roast and 2 Veg on sundays.
a few weeks back it was 39 (you can imagine what the kitchen was like!) and they want their sunday lunch...

Stunning weather here today - Out on the bike between 3.00pmish and 8.00pm - temperature varied between 21.5 degrees in the afternoon down to 11.5 this evening, but that was in one spot down Red Dwarf Bay (Yes I know just a joke) - stunning biking weather with summer smells and loads of flies out - traffic was tolerant of a hard driven GS through Snowdonia and beyond. Good day out.
Like Pug, I took the bike out this morning. Only for an MOT, though. The 6 mile round trip left me hungry for more but I had other things to do. Got a pass with an advise on tyres but I've got two on order. £180, ouch ! Better the Honda main agent do the job, it's a bit specialist at the back end.
Went to visit kids in Shaw Heath and Hazel Grove afterwards. Shirt sleeve order today. Sat in the Sun when I got home, with a cafetiere and some fruit cake. Luvverly !
Tomorrow looks to be as good. Eye hospital on Tuesday, hope they sort me out at laat.
Ted

Is the Eye Hospital to be sold to Apple come privatisation

I have been so tempted to jack everything off early this week and go camping in Anglesey but I have responsibilities :;( I had planned go to early May but knowing my luck this is the last of the good weather :(
Though I am quiet with work and after Monday I have no work booked in, so I am very tempted to spend some time by the mountains but it is two months earlier than planned so probably not a good idea :(.
May just have a short drive down to Derbyshire on Wednesday instead.
Highest temp yesterday was Porth my dog (somewhere in the West) 22c
Lowest daytime temp was in Fair Isle (somewhere op North again!) 7c
>> I have been so tempted to jack everything off early this week and go camping

Responsibilities? Boss? shifts? Mortgage? Kids? immobile or infirm parents? pet?
You have NONE! none at all. Live a little - do it.
I will wait till May as originally intended :). Might have a day of on Wednesday if the weather is still nice though .
Dog do you mean Porthmadog? That is in North Wales, a lovely part of Wales that is. Seems very hot as it is usually a little chilly there.
>>Dog do you mean Porthmadog?<<
Course I do Rattle, you know I like to play about with werds,
Near Snowdonia I believe, luvly when the sun is out, even Dagenham can be quite pleasant at this time of year :)
Actually the town of port mad dog is really a rat hole. (apart from a tiny little bit of old port) Its just a place to fill up your car with petrol and your basket with food and stay somewhere else in the district.
The town itself maybe, but the area is lovely ;).
You're not far wrong Zero - Port is a good enough distance to be a decent destination for a ride from here (cheap diesel/petrol at the Shell garage) - some nice indie shops still exist. Bit quieter now thanks to the Surrey taxpayer funded by-pass - the old harbour area is a gem. If you're interested in trains the Welsh Highland railway terminus is up and coming. Very good vinyl shop at Cob Records. May go there now the sun's out and I'm soon to be unemployed again !

+1, 19C might warrant a light jacket even.

I don't think anyone is whinging about the temperature, just enjoying some glorious Spring days. Spring in England is incomparable and one of the reasons why I love living in England.
>>glorious Spring days.
I`ll give it another week before it`s back to rain, wind and proper English "Sprummertime"!
Enjoy it while you can. Some April showers will be welcome.
22.3c in Aberdeenshire just now - apparently hottest day in March on record for Scotland.
>>22.3c in Aberdeenshire just now<<
More-than double the temp of Bedford :(

Hovering around 19 here today - took the dogs for a walk on the coastal path (around 6 miles) hard going in the sun, felt more like Greece than Anglesey - the sun was strong, bizarre was the lack of leaves on the trees, everything else signaled summer apart from the winter tyres on the X1 - arrange to get them swapped next week.
Bit cooler today in Reading. I was sweating doing a bit of gardening yesterday in shorts and T-shirt, and the car registered 22 on a drive in the afternoon. But today it was just very pleasant; perhaps 20?

I know, I was in Hampshire 2 weeks ago, the smell of mown grass is something I miss... however I walked along from Wong Nai Chung Gap to Wan Chai Gap yesterday - along the ridge of the Peak. It was circa 24DegC and the humidity was in the 50s. an equal pleasure I assure you.
Having said that, it is 24DegC at 8am today and I travelled to work with people wearing winter coats and jumpers.
This tells me that the 'perception' of temperature is relative, the other week in Hampshire 16DegC in bright spring sunshine felt lovely to me but it would feel like an Arctic blast here in HK.
If this is the result of climate change, then I like it. Bring it on.
:-)
Reached 22c in Manchester today, currently 20c :). Its apparently 13c in London.
I've been cycling in the forest in my shorts. I know, I know...
:-)
>> arrange to get them swapped next week.
If this is the effect they have on the weather can you keep them on for at least another week? We're going to the Lake District for 4 days this Friday :-)
I've been cycling in the forest in my shorts. I know, I know...
I now have a Germanic mental image.......shudder...
>> Germanic mental image.
You know that shipment of rambling loden shoes in that funny thick greenish leather, rubber soles kept getting unstuck after two days, cost us a fortune in returns? Well are they still in the lock-up? Guid! Ye couldnae run me up a pair of Lederhosen oot ae the uppers could ye?
Och ye're a braw lad...
Germanic? They're Ralph Lauren shorts. Jeez...getting a bit, well, Welsh, aren't we?...
:-)
You're wearing Ralphs shorts?
I give up. Pearls before swine etc..
Although, could you be lad second from right?
Few men over the age of majority have the legs to merit the wearing of shorts.
And don't get me started on middle-aged blokes who don't wear shirts in summer.
