He seemed a nice guy. Shame.

As opposed to Martin Shaw who seems an idiot.

Bit of my youth memories has gone there. Pity.

Martin Shaw is a serious Ack - Tor darling, wishes to leave his Ray Doyle memories behind him.

Yup.

Part of my mad youth. Shared a house with a guy with an Escort Harrier - we were those two...!

Shaw is a complete prat - met him professionally many years ago. The ego has to be believed.

Don't suppose 45 will even turn up at his funeral.

...and from that show we got this (motoring link):

I remember Lewis Collins as the lodger in some 70's program where he drove a Lotus.

Thanks for posting the Youtube link to the Almera ad. Forgotten about that.

Reminds me that the Almera and Primera were dull to look at. Interiors were not as good as the European cars. But they drove really well. Had a few as hire cars in the mid to late nineties.

I think he drove a Lamborghini in the Cuckoo Waltz...

I like the fact that he started off as a hairdresser, turned down an audition for the Beatles, joined a fairly famous 60s rock group, in his spare time after the professionals he joined the TA, then got his red beret to become a TA para, and passed the SAS selection tests but was turned down because he was too well known.

Anyone else catch Pan's People ( as they are now ) on the telly the other day? So sad...

BBD might be happy enough on reflection.
 Lewis Collins - Armel Coussine
I didn't see them Humph, but were they really sad or just getting on a bit and wrinkly? They were appallingly energetic and regimented in their heyday my mental vision reminds me, although cute too of course.

People's lives go this way and that and it isn't always a pretty story throughout. But going over the hill is a universal experience for those who don't die young. It isn't necessarily the bleak prospect some try to make out. There can even be compensations.
 Lewis Collins - Runfer D'Hills
They weren't sad at all AC. On top form in fact. I however...
 Lewis Collins - Roger.
Two of the three interviewed had aged very well, IMO.

Oh yes!
 Lewis Collins - Roger.
Talking about "Oh Yes!" - for those who think Helen Mirren is the dog's testes, have a look at the weird film "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife And Her Lover".
If you can stand the nasty bits, there are many shots of La Mirren in the full frontal full buff. Now that's what I call "Phwoar!"

>> De Tomaso Pantera

More a sort of pastiche Italian thoroughbred, American engine and fairly simple Italian body and chassis, but primarily a boulevard cruiser with iffy high-speed handling, they said at the time. Quite a bit cheaper than Ferrari or Lamborghini too. Looked OK I would say. From memory though.
 Lewis Collins - ....
You're right Runfer my 6 year old brain had committed it to memory as a Lotus.
