Just saying hi from the wilds of Yorkshire. I currently have a 2024 Suzuki Swace hybrid (Toyota Corolla Touring Sports in drag) and Mrs BJ has a 2006 Panda 1.2 Eleganza but ultimately we'll be downsizing to the Swace as I'm now retired and don't really need two cars - saying that the Panda is in fab condition and has only done a bit over 50k miles so may live some time longer!
In the past we've had a string of VAG cars , latterly a 2014 Skoda Superb owned from nearly new which was fab. I've also restored a few classic cars and built a kit car in the past (got fed up with rust!).

Welcome. The Swace? had to look it up, you dont see many of thoise on the road.

I needed a car smaller than a Superb that I fitted in and with many cars the B pillar is too far forward for me where my elbow bashes against it and seat belt all wrong! To my surprise I found the Swace to be a Goldilocks car re comfort.
I tend to buy cars cheapish but new / nearly new (end of model etc) and keep for a decade or so! It was always my way of financially coping with a long term high mileage commute(30+ years!) , well until I retired!!
My 1.8 Swace has the very economical generation 5 Toyota hybrid gubbins, has a large 596l boot(we go camping!), is comfortable up front (less so sat in the back) , has loads of kit and more importantly has buttons and knobs for major car functions - Mrs BJ is a fully paid up member of the Luddite society.

Also from Yorkshire but exiled in Northants for 35 years and the immediate future.
We're just in the process of going down to one car too. Even before I went 100% WFH it wasn't justifying its existence. Other car was an 11yo Berlingo.
Both now gone and replaced with a Superb which has so far been, err, Superb.
We tow a caravan so need 1500kg ish of kerbweight.

Lots of Swaces used as taxis round here. I find the roof in the back too low for me so have to sit in the front with the seat far back.
Taxi drivers seem to like them and they are a badge engineered version of the Toyota Corolla estate to the extent that on the boot, the Suzuki badge is actually glued over the Toyota badge!
We still have two cars, a Tucson and a Nissan Note for Mrs Z. The Note is 9 years old now and I would like to have just one car, but having two does make life easier, if not a bit more expensive (currently looking for insurance quotes for her).

We both retired about 18 months ago. Like others we debated whether to go down to one car. So, we tried not using one of them for a couple of weeks, but that nearly ended in divorce so we gave up on that idea. ;-)
Still managed to do over 10k miles in one of them last year and even the other one did 8k miles.
Old cliche about wondering how we ever had time to work applies here!
We have an estate and an SUV. I mainly use the estate and she primarily uses the Sitty Uppy Vehicle, but we do swap them about sometimes.
Welcome!

I'd have another Superb , I've had two - each owned for about a decade and as you say they were both "Superb". Unfortunately whilst Mrs BJ loved being a passenger in them she found them tooooo big, just driving the last car once after her Panda sulked.
The Swace is a compromise with comfortable passenger space at the front and a fab boot, can't complain about the economy, it's worse when the weather is cold but even that's 60+ mpg. In the summer, wow, way more than I expected where early/mid 70's mpg achievable. I'd heard beforehand that economy would be poor on a motorway though but in reality it did early 60's mpg very fully laden with camping gear from Yorkshire to near Malvern M62/M18/M1/M42/M5 etc............. I also must admit it's way easier to park compared to my previous Superb.
