Insurer Call Centre - take the car to your dealer for an estimate!
Stormy day in Scotland last Friday.
Owner parks her car in a side street and goes to see her friend a few doors away
Large tree in garden blown over, you could not see the car.
Eventually help comes and the tree is cut into pieces and taken away.
Calls the insurer who wants the car driven to the main dealer for an estimate.
Quote "the car is under 1 metre high, it has no glass, no steering wheel, it's a write-off"
Call Centre - it is not a write-off until we have an estimate .............
Obviously reading from a script on the screen.
1 photo sent - car transporter with a crane or a telehandler was needed.

Barking mad!

Urban myth of course. No such exclusion .
|
The owner of the tree has a duty of care that the tree does not cause damage. If it has recently been inspected and no problem identified, the owner may not be liable.

...should have called her breakdown service out for a flat tyre...

Are you sure the Chinese call centre didn't tell her to take it to Nelson Mandela?

1990 called and they want their joke back ;-)

Replacement car!
They could not get the Qashqai on quick delivery but bought a Juke that was in the showroom.
Most of the time it's only the kids and the mum so perfectly adequate - the Renault Scenic / Qashqai habit started when the kids were babies and the extra space was needed.

Not sure about the latest Juke but certainly the first model had an unbelievably small boot.
