Yes, some messing about with coding can come back to bite you on the behind. I took my Octavia in to a VAG specialist for a transmission fluid change, noticed they offered coding as well and asked what "upgrades" were available. They told me they could activate the auto high beam and the cornering lights, tie in the tail lights with the DRLs and add Apple CarPlay. I asked them to do all of the above, or as much as they could fit in while the car was with them.
It came back with the fluid change done but 2 hours later than agreed and with only the cornering lights enabled. Trouble is, they light up when the corresponding indicator is used at any speed - and regardless of whether the dipped beams are on or not. So now it's slightly worse than it was. That'll teach me.
