 Getting rid of big bank notes could reduce crime - zippy
500 Euro notes are being phased out because they are often used for money laundering.

The same should be done with similarly sized US Dollar notes.

The disadvantage of reducing the value of the larger notes is that it reduces demand and weakens the value of the currency (yes there is that much dirty money).

Beware calls to eradicate money and use cards or electronic transfers only.

What if you have your bank account closed, what if you want to buy something without anyone else knowing etc. etc.
