There have been so much news about Toyota accelerator issue even though rarely anyone was affected in UK.
However, Mercedes has a serious fuel injector issue which affected a large number of C and E classes lately.
One of my relatives bought a 2009 E-class (~5k miles) from Mercedes which went to limp mode just after 2 days (after purchase) due to injector problem. When he argued with dealer, they were even ready to refund his money!
Apparently, customers can easily reject the cars under sale of goods act. It's a shame that cars costing £30k+ are actually not fit for sale!

PS: There is now usually a waiting list if you want to buy new Merc. Apparently, due to reduced demand (as economy plunged), they produced fewer cars. Amazing what you can do with clever marketing strategy.
