Nah, we all stopped using Avast.
|
Yep, me - dunno if it's real or a false positive, only started this evening.
avast says:-
Infection Details
URL: ads.car4play.com/www/delivery/afr.php?frameid
Process: file://C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxfirefox.exe
Infection: html:Iframe-inf

I only switched on about an hour ago, one update later and the warnings started.
Microsoft's Exploder for me.
ad_leaderboard, ad_bannerreferer, ad_mpureferer they're all at it.

Just switched on 5 minutes ago and got the avast warning.
As a precaution, I have just blocked the server at ads.car4play.com
I am also going to opt to have a blank screen come up on the browser,
as default (car4play is on the tool-bar for when I want it). That way I am only at risk
when I purposely look at a site. Rather than have adverts loaded each
time I switch the PC on.

I'm on my cranky old Vista laptop which runs avast.
No ads on the site, other than a warning triangle and a 'the connection was reset' message.
I blame that new designer lass.

I blame Avast for a false positive.
|
Maybe, but as Avast so far has been good, I'm going for a bit.
|
Me too. I've e-mailed the webmaster.
|
It's probably this new forum.
Has anyone found it?

Thanks for the notice. A few months ago we took our ad server offline because it got hit by a malware attack. Basically the OpenX ad server had a vulnerability that allowed it to get compromised.
Last week we completely reinstalled the OpenX ad server clean from the latest version. Clearly it still has vulnerabilities. Not great I know, but there isn't much else out there in the open source domain.
I have removed the offending appends and altered a couple of things, but all we can do is collectively keep an eye on it.

just installed latest Firefox update - no probs - yet!

I had the Avast! malware warning yesterday when visiting this site, but it's stopped now. Two scans using Avast! and SUPERAntispyware revealed nothing amiss at the time.

Good of you and "devonite" to confirm that Stephen's action "I have removed the offending appends and altered a couple of things" is working.

>> I use the 'back' button on my browser to go back to the unread list and since we've had the extra adverts at the bottom of the forum, I have to press the back button three times to get it to work.
I wonder what else is loaded with each page?

Well, that answers my question of last week then:)
