Just spent the afternoon in Liverpool to take some photographs. It is the first time I've been there on leisure since about 2005 and was amazed to see how much it has changed. I've always liked Liverpool and it is great to see what a transformed and wonderful city it now is.
I still don't get the fuss about the Liver building though, there are buildings more impressive than that in Manchester which don't get a mention, I think the Liver building is just very famous for what is known for.
I see Liverpool has played down the Beatles references a little bit, but it still annoys me, to me there are far better bands from Liverpool than the Beatles but I wasn't around in the 1960's so I can't really get a proper understanding of how big they where.
Is a very different city than Manchester, Liverpool looks prettier but with so many scousers living in Manchester I think there are still a lot more opportunities here than Liverpool, Manchester's economy is much much bigger.
However Liverpool has recently succeeded in reversing its population decline and with more investment it could become a city for the wealthy rather than a city associated with poverty.
Just never seen such a transformation, Manchester has of course been transformed a lot more so, there still loads of cranes in the city centre now, six years after the Manchester boom when there was over 100 cranes in the city centre but I as I am in Manchester city weekly I haven't really noticed it, just every week another buildings gone up.
So it was so nice to see a drastic change in a city.
