Four hundred quid for a blender? - Iffy
Does anyone have or know anything about a Vitamix?

It's the featured product today on the Ideal World shopping channel, and the presentation does look impressive.

Things such as making peanut butter from peanuts and making hot soup from cold water and raw veg.

There's no heating element, but everything whizzes round so fast the contents heat up.

Ice cream from frozen strawberries is another process, and the machine is so strong it will liquidize a chicken carcass, including the bones.

Some of the demos are a bit gimmicky, but I believe they are true, although I'm not sure ultimately how useful.

As with any kitchen gadget, there's always a risk it will end up in the back of a cupboard, and four hundred quid is a lot to risk.
