High IDV score indicates a country where people have more sense of individualism than others. USA scores highest on this and UK is second.
PDI is measure of how social or organizational hierarchy is respected/implemented in a country. A high score means (in most Arab countries and Far East countries as well communist states) hierarchy is strictly imposed i.e. you are NOT expected to challenge your superiors.
A low index means you can very easily challenge/improves decisions made by your superiors. Austria, Holland, Japan etc. scores low - i.e. less hierarchy.
