Sounds like the sensors were fitted wrong way up or badly spaced/specced, common problem apparently...my sparky must have spent an hour measuring and repositioning before starting to drill the holes.

Octavia sounds intersting, i seldom have anything to do with VAG group cars and haven't seen this.
