Was the Panasonic bought from John Lewis? My youngest offspring has a Panny whose power supply packed up, so he arranged to have it repaired under the JL warranty.

To his surprise, it turned out that the TV didn't have the proper Panasonic power supply fitted originally, so this was dutifully replaced. Still going strong several years later.

Incidentally, the comments earlier about the Turkish manufacturer producing models for some of the big brand names is absolutely correct and they are certainly not of the standard that had come to be expected.
