"Did they download the Windows they installed?"
They downloaded an installer on to my computer and I was told to click on that and let it do its thing. (Which took ages.)
I suppose the troublesome update might have been included.
The only further thought I had about the Chassis Intrude stuff was whether the battery is on the blink and sometimes has enough juice, but that seems unlikely, since when I switched the PC on last night, it had been standing for over 48hrs while the machine was switched off. (We were away for the weekend.)
