We returned from holiday yesterday to no broadband. Using the mobile dongle, eventually managed to connect to the Virginmedia service status page to find that their ADSL broadband is down. Other than a 'red light' against the ADSL service there's no apology, explanation, estimated time to fix etc. Nor have they sent out any emails (mail is working provided you have another means of connecting to the internet) and it's still down over 24 hours later, last updated 20.04 tonight. Maybe they're assuming that most of their customers can't connect anyway so there's no point giving information!
I think this is very poor and I'm inclined to change ISP. Is that a good idea or are they all as bad?
