I know a 1.6D isn't a hugely powerful engine to tow with, but I was curious as to why the normal version has a towing limit of 1500Kg whilst the start/stop DriveE one we have is limited to 800Kg.
Apart from the start/stop (+ extra battery for this) there are some other differences - lower on suspension by 1cm, different transmission oil (?), but why else limit it to around half the normal version? After all there is a button in the car to turn the start/stop feature off so you could always press this if that were the issue. Any ideas? Or are Volvo just being cautious? When I called them they said it was differences in the engine - yeah well we know that - so that didn't really help.
