I've been looking after my son's Corsa since he broke his leg in a fall on the ice and, when I took it out for a spin a couple of days ago, the windscreen washer pump had stopped working. Neither the front nor rear screen washers are working; I am making the assumption that the same pump should operate both.
Logically, it could be the switch, the pump, or a fuse that has failed.
!. Am I correct in thinking that, if I connect a voltmeter between the connectors for the pump, then when the switch is operated, I should see a 12v (or thereabouts) reading? And that this would demonstrate without doubt that the problem lay with the pump?
2. Does anyone know which fuse is used for the washer pump? I can see from the handbook that there is a fuse space designated for the 'headlamp washer' - but there doesn't appear to be one for windscreen washer.
3. Any of you chaps ever changed the screen washer pump on a Corsa? Is it a tricky task? Is it one of those faults that occur regularly on models of a certain age?
Thanks, chaps.
