Been a very bust weekend for the FC household.
Mrs FC was doing the Landmarks Half Marathon in London on Sunday so the family made a long weekend of it.
Saturday saw us firstly visiting the Covid Memorial inside St Pauls to pay respects to a close family member. Then onto the National Theatre to see ‘This England’. A play about the tenure of Gareth Southgate as England Manager. I’m not a football fan but Operation Mincemeat had seemingly restricted view seating.
However we certainly weren’t disappointed as in play form it went through the teams trials and tribulations during that time. Some of the actors were even doubles for the parts they played.
Along with lighting and sound effects it was an amazing show. Highly recommended.
Home yesterday and onto York for the evening to see John Simpson’s Leaders and Lunatics tour. He discusses some main events and leaders he has met during his life as an international correspondent - Trump, Putin, Zelenski, Mugabe, Amin, Hussein, Gaddafi and Mandela, to name but a few. Claims to have acquired one of Saddam Hussein’s slippers from the place of his arrest near Tikrit.
One observation as a side issue is that generally eating and drinking out in London is no longer seemed much more expensive than my own part of the country as since Covid and other factors prices seem to have risen substantially
