For the last 3 years, he's made at least 25% a year on them.
Annoyed as I made <3% so cashed mine in to pay the mortgage off.
He has given me access to his account because I thought his account is lucky and matched his modest savings in his account. His bonds just won a 4 figure sum. Arrgh!!!!
Together we have a few hundred bonds dating back 50+ years. My wife's last salary (ever) was some £120 before having our first son - she never went back teaching (80 this year)
We bought £100 bond for him - he is 52 next month and it has never won a penny! We still have the actual paper bond and any winnings are his if any were forthcoming.
In total, what was then 2 or 3 month's salary is now a month's groceries. We have not seen anything in the last 25/30 years on our bonds or his £100 bond.
MIL moaned that hers never won anything. I asked if she'd ever informed them of change of address - she hadn't. I sorted it out and she got prizes from years back. I was golden boy for a while.
Not a premium bond, but I won £100 Shell fuel voucher (4 x £25). You know, the type of lucky dip/random draw competitions that are advertised at the pumps and you think "whoever wins those?" Well I did! Which was nice.
Since I looked at one of these prize draw things on FB, my feed is now inundated with companies offering tickets for camper vans, bikes, supercars and also very often normal cars like a 3 year old Volvo estate!
