t some of their charging superhubs Instavolt are installing elongated bays in which you are alongside the charger rather than nose onto it, specifically for long vehicles (e.g. can + van or lorry).

You can see them in this pic - which also shows just how much infrastructure is coming on line for EVs. instavolt.co.uk/instavolt-ev-charging-station-winchester-super-hub/

They are leading the way in these superhubs, although others are doing them too.

And there are plans for the Manchester Trafford Centre to have a 65 space on (it's thought to be Tesla)

Since I have had my EV I have never seen anyone towing a caravan with an EV. Does anybody?

Signs at Warwick CC this week offering overnight charging for £7. No dedicated points, so granny cable, and an insistence you do it via your own unit, not directly from the hook-up point.

Read of a few in CAMC/C&CC publications and on Facebook groups.

Both main clubs have tested EVs in their towcar rating contests. Whatever the outcomes they come up with, and as Manatee of this parish has pointed out on other threads some of their results defy rational analysis, I didn't even consider an EV before buying the Superb.

Charging EVs on site as T&E mentions might just work for those using the mahoosive MoHo + car thing but not for refuelling a tow car.

Yes, but the list of cars that can is quite low, surprisingly given the power and torque of EV's, a lot have low max towing weights, and quite a few do not have the space to fit a tow bar due to battery location, and as a general rule of thumb the range is halved

Generally, towing with an EV is a pain. The range is halved, and although ONE place with an elongated charging bay has opened, generally the need to seperate caravan from car is a reet PITA.

Nothing to do with EV towing, but that reminded me of a time towing my caravan in France and I got into the pumps area OK but there was a weird arrangement of kerbs, barriers and walls to get out, and we eventually had to unhitch the caravan and do it manually in the end.

Yeah, imagine the agro of having to do that every 150 miles, which is what you have at the moment and for the considerable future with EV towing.
