Streamed tonight to a local cinema, I was tempted to go to London at one point, glad I didn't this was brilliant and with 20 minute drive to the venue. Catch it if you can !
I think the film is great. The fighting at the airbase looks real. The briefing in the B52 is hilarious - if not worrying - "Shoot, a fella' could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff."
It is brilliant, scary, funny, rediculous, technically (in the filming sense) utterly superb. Its a performing arts accident in reality, it wasnt concieved planned or scripted to turn out the way it did. Its release timing was accidently spot on too.
>> Just to make it clear this is not a remake of the film but a
>> streamed version of the play currently playing at the Noel Cowards Theatre.London
>>
>> Has good reviews.
Indeed, however there is a plan mooted to remake the film.
We were talking about it this morning. It was a near perfect mix of good acting and superb production - even the scenes in the B52 were brillianty made. Coogan at his very best as well.
Mrs RP was only slightly interested, but she seriously enjoyed it. It was shown in a small indie cinema (the one supported by Monty Python's Terry Jones when he was still on this mortal coil) .even the Nescafe instant coffe was great !
