What does greyed text mean? - Iffy
When I highlight some text on the Mac to copy it, the highlighted section is in a fetching shade of pale blue.

After copying, this usually changes to grey, then back to normal when I click on it.

The greyed text must mean something or allow me to do something.

Perhaps it's just a simple visual indication ie. pale blue = not yet copied, grey = copied. More bells/whistles than practical, but doesn't do any harm?

EDIT: speaking as a non-mac user, as you know

I've always viewed it as a double bit of information - that (a) the copied item has successfully loaded onto the clip-board and (b) that all the information has been selected e.g. in an e-mail address that the ".com" is not a ".co"

Thanks.

Having had another play, it goes grey when you leave the document with the text still highlighted and click on something else.

It might be no more than the way the programme indicates highlighted text in a document which is visible on the desk top, but not open, ie clicked on.
