 WD NAS Storage firmware upgrades - ....
If you have a My Book World Edition offering to upgarde the firmware from 01.02.06 to 01.02.10 DO NOT do it.
WD have pulled this firmware upgrade as it causes the NAS to drop off the network.

I'm currently looking for a way to rollback :-(

To close this off, 01.02.12 is now available to fix the issue (if anyone else has the issue).

01.02.10 and above is to work with Apple Lion apparently.

The problem with Lion was it broke access to many NAS devices uses AFP because they changed security settings. It was possible to turn the enhanced security off in Lion from a command line but the changes were to improve security.

I ran into this with my NAS (Netgear) but a beta and then full release for it was released within a day. And SMB access continued to work anyway.
