 Monitor Problem - Robbie34
When I switched on my PC last night the monitor went into energy saving mode after Vista had booted up. It was fine during the booting up process, but then shut down. I tried to find the problem in Safe Mode and rolled back to a previous back up but to no avail. I tried the monitor from my old PC and it worked. Took my newish monitor upstairs to my old PC running XP; connected it up, and it worked.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Its likely that you have somehow set your desktop resolution/scan rate outside the range of your monitor.

Adjust your screen resolution and scan rate to one safely inside the specs of the monitor.

Failing that remove your video card drivers and let Vista default to its own, then download and reinstall the latest drivers from your video chip maker.
